Getting Started: Site Supervisors
We are pleased you are interested in serving as a Site Supervisor for a Students in Service (SIS) AmeriCorps member.
Benefits:
- fosters volunteer recruitment success
- volunteer retention
- Often organizations like yours are faced with limited budgets and are unable to offer financial incentives for students to provide much needed services and support. Similarly, students facing rising costs of attending at a university or college cannot afford to make a commitment to volunteering
- Many of SIS volunteers are participating in service as part of their education and are intrinsically motivated to learn about your organization, it's mission, how it benefit the community, and how they can use their skills and knowledge to benefit your organization's mission
- You can use the SIS program as a marketing tool to help recruit a quality volunteer, intern, or community service work study
As a Site Supervisor for a member in our program, you will play an integral role in making this program successful. A Site Supervisor:
- Serves as a primary point of contact for a member during his/her term of service,
- Assists in training and orientating a member to his/her service site,
- Provides on-going advisement and mentoring during service,
- Provides some professional support to his/her member,
- Helps his/her member complete their Site Agreement,
- Signs monthly Time Logs,
- Completes an online evaluation at the end of his/her member's term of service.
